Charles Wesley Godwin- LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE
The City of Morgantown is proud to announce that Country music singer, songwriter, and Morgantown native Charles Wesley Godwin will return to his hometown on Thursday, December 14, Friday, December 15, Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 to perform at the Metropolitan Theatre.
A typically prolific writer, and one who over his first two critically-acclaimed albums had proven himself to be a reflective and soulful songwriter and singer — a storyteller in the vein of his heroes like Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Bruce Springsteen— Godwin found himself in a state of stasis last year. To hear him tell it, he was frozen in place — unable to find the words to what he hoped would become his new songs and under a level of pressure he’d never previously experienced.
And yet, what would ultimately inspire the man was right in front of him all along: family.
General public tickets will be available starting on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 AM EST.
For the December 17 show Westford, MA native and indie/ska performers The Shoats will be the opener.
This show is meant for all ages and prices range between $35.00-$75.00
Charles’s new album, which is currently available for pre-order, Family Ties, will be coming out on September 22.
“I’m thrilled that the Allegheny High band and I will be performing at The Metropolitan Theatre this December! Growing up in Morgantown, playing at the MET was a dream. I can’t wait to close out the year in my hometown and share these songs with everyone,” said Charles Wesley Godwin
