It’s 1959 at Rydell High School, and the senior class is in rare form. The too-cool-for-school “Burger Palace Boys” are stealing hub-caps and their gum-snapping “Pink Ladies” are wearing bobby sox and pedal pushers. Hot-rodding gangster Danny Zuko and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski, started a secret romance over the summer, but now back at school, their love is a bit more complicated. Will Danny remain the coolest guy at school and will he and Sandy stay together? The whole gang sings and dances around their romance, through hit songs as “Greased Lightnin'”, “We Go Together”, and “Mooning”, recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.

MTC provides high-quality musical theatre to the community performed by local school-aged kids. The Morgantown community and our young actors have the a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of theatre arts activities. Each semester, every MTC student “gets a part” with direct on-stage experience. Besides acting, singing and dancing, MTC students develop behind the scenes skills in set and prop design, lighting, sound effects, makeup, stage management, and even directing. These activities help build self-confidence, teamwork, responsibility, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.
